U.F.O. (United Faggotry Opus) is a free, volunteer run, queer zine publication. Our works mostly focus on Canada's "British columbia" region. (Though you are more than welcome to spread these wherever you see fit!) We typically publish a small, roughly 14 page long zine every second week,

After the close provincial election in october of 2024, in which the conservative party pulled together a party out of thin air after nearly 50 years of irrelevance in the province, we knew it was time to get involved. We believe stongly that pedestrian fascism is on our front door, and that the only way to protect ourselves from it is to organize.

Our main focus is fostering a better sense of community between the queer folk of BC, especially in northern communities where queer isolation is rampant. We also want to invite our cishet allies to reexamine their beliefs, and see the lies of the conservative party for what they are.

KEEP CIRCULATING THE WORKS!

CONTRIBUTORS:

DISTRIBUTE:

UFO is 100% free for distribution by third parties. We are focused on the "British colmbia" region, and very much appreciate anyone from that area distributing our works, but if you're somewhere else that's fine as well! Ideally we want our publication to be free, but if you have to charge for material costs, or for a fundraiser, that's totally fine too. We only ask that you do not alter our work, removing links to our site is a huge no-no.

Aside from that, feel free to distribute these wherever you like! Add UFO to your anarchist distroism table, scatter them like homoerotic chic tracts, put a few on the counter of the downtown vinyl shop you operate, pass them out at your small town pride event! It doesn't matter, our main goal is outreach. We have no donations page for the zine, but if you want to support us, maybe track down a few of our contributors seen above!

CONTRIBUTE:

We work on a volunteer basis, all of our content is contributed freely by kind folks who believe in what we're doing. As such, you are more than welcome to submit your work to our zine, though we do have a few quidelines before you submit!

In addition to our submittion rules, we also have a list of core assumptions most of our works are based around. We are willing to make some exceptions on a few of these. However if you read the following list and find yourself in total disagreement, our publication may not be the right fit for you, and your works may be rejected.

This list is subject to change, we don't have all the answers, and most of our focus is on queer politics. As such, we may not always agree on broader, larger scale topics. Things such as economics are totally outside the wheelhouse of our lead editors, and we would rather bring queer folk together rather than draw too many hard lines about what is acceptable to publish. As a baseline, bigoted content and direct calls for violence are usually prohibited.

If your piece does get rejected, you are more than free to submit another piece unless otherwise stated! We will try to give an explaination for why a piece was rejected, a usual culprit is that the work doesn't fit the theme of queer liberation to a satisfactory degree. We do encourage you to subit it to a more appropriate publication, or spin up your own publication!
